The electricity in the air on Sunday made up for the fact that it was an overcast day. All the kids were excited to fill up their beach cleanup bags with trash and make Seal Beach even more beautiful than it already is.

 

The Surfrider Foundation Huntington Beach/Seal Beach Chapter was out in full force manning the information booths and serving Java Jaws Coffee. 

 

Event sponsor Kohl’s volunteers turned the beach into a sea of purple with their Kohl’s Cares purple T-shirts. In addition to helping clean the beach, Kohl’s announced that it was donating $30,000 to the Surfrider Foundation.

 

Among the other sponsors were: Wells Fargo, Whole Foods, Shaklee, Up, Up and Away Kites, and Aquarium of Pacific.

Surf artists Robb Havassey and Nathan Gibbs showed up, too. Havassey donated original artworks and a surfboard he designed that celebrates native culture and the environment. 

 

Gibbs donated artworks and his environmental book The Betrayal of Man.

 

The Originalities band kept the music going and lots of people were stopping by to see the Ocean Friendly Garden that Greg Goran set up. 

And, at the end of the day everyone was trying to get Chapter Chairperson Tony Soriano into the Coral Reef dunk tank…but he was too fast to catch.

I was thrilled to be your Maid of Honor at your wedding more than 20 years ago. I want to be the best sister, sister-in-law, and Auntie.

The most precious thing in the whole world is having a very special BFF as your soul mate. Many beautiful songs and poems have been written about Best Friends Forever. What I want to say comes from a very special place inside my heart.                         

 “You are my angel!”

I am absolutely thrilled that we are celebrating our 2nd Anniversary of being BFFs today. I wonder what I can bring to the table after two years of friendship.

I have been in many situations where life has been very tough and I have to try harder than the average person. I can bring to the table my shared experiences and effort to become the best possible friend that you can be very proud of without complaints.

We are celebrating the first two years of having such a beautiful and strong friendship. It has been an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me that I was able to discover someone special, who is warm and caring as you.

Before you came along I have been searching for a special friend because there was an empty space in my life. Now we are having fun and adventures together. We are living a truly happy and fulfilled life. You gave me your unconditional faith and 
encouragement that I can do anything – I want to accomplish in my life.

We have a special connection in that you know exactly what to do whenever I go through my moods and emotional roller coasters. You’ve been there, too.

You are my ultimate inspiration and heart. I know that I am in the presence of God just by having you in my life. His timing couldn’t have been more perfect in order to give me such a rare and fulfilling friendship.

We love jazz, the Beach Boys’ music, the ocean, nature and stuffed animals. We are passionate about creative writing, photography, cats, children’s books, movies, plays, and hanging out.

You are everything I want to be and more someday. You are so very smart in every way, wise, independent, extremely professional and accomplished. You have written lots of books and been published with your co-author Greg, 
your devoted and loving husband.

Someday we will be planning to write books. Perhaps, we will write fiction novel mysteries that will keep people in suspense.

You and Greg have helped to give my life personal freedom and a healthy, quick 
release into a journey with everything fun, exciting, and adventurous.

Smokey – your darling cat has also added so much joy to my life.

 

You are the most gifted, and beautiful person in the world inside and out. I only hope 
that I can achieve my goals to be just like you someday.

I feel so fortunate that we can actually team up together as the SurfWriter Girls, professional media consultants. We love doing our volunteer work for the Surfrider Foundation Huntington Beach/Seal Beach Chapter.

We have the most fun when we work on our SurfWriter Girls blogs and stories!

Most of all, Patti means Patricia which is a name so very dear to me because my mother is also Patricia. It’s so amazing how you both first loved me.

It's Easter!

When life threatens to hold you back and you cannot function at a 100% - just remember to embrace the day and relax… It’s Easter!

I want to wish you a very Happy Easter because it’s Springtime and a celebration of our rare and unique friendship as BFFs!!

This is where our miracle started as Jesus was a miracle when He was raised from the dead and overcame all the darkness in the world. That’s why everything is so full of life and joyful. If Jesus can overcome and bring new life, then we can overcome beautifully.

I feel so very blessed to have you, Greg and Smokey in my life! I am eternally grateful. Today is a very special day because our new life is already beginning.
